Getting places to find in order to have content published is one part of the equation, the other is actually writing the content.  Now you may find that the blog or site itself will ask you for something specific, or maybe they will just give you carte blance to write whatever you feel.

If you need ideas for content you could:

• Setup Google News Alerts to see what is going on in your industry
• Visit LinkedIn Answers and see the types of questions being asked – and peek at the answers too for ideas
• Look at what your current customers are asking you or your support team
• Have a look at your competitors websites or industry sites and see what they are writing about

For content to be published it is always easier to try and write something fairly evergreen try not to mention exact pricing as it will date quickly and if someone finds the post in  6 months time and tries to act on the info – it can be annoying for the visitor.  That said if you do you pricing or product info make sure you put a pricing correct at date statement, just to give the content some relevance.

It is a good idea to try and build a generic list of articles in a article bank so you can simply pick one as a base and make some amends to fit the site you will be submitting it to.

Failing that, if you don’t have the time, you could employ a writer to prepare a bunch of content that you can then use.  If you make a committment for say 2 posts a month you could easily find someone to werite 24 articles for you in one go then you simply use those.  The rewards of inbound links and direct traffic will more than pay you back over time.
